HOMECOMING FESTIVAL

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

SATURDAY, JUNE 28, 2003………noon-5:00pm

PARADE……..begins at 12:30pm at the Bobby Douglas Bridge, east end of

                     Blaine, and will travel west on the historic National Road to the

                     site of the 1828 Blaine Bridge.

PROGRAM…..starts at 1:30pm, at the 1828 Blaine Bridge; Eugene “Doc” Householder will ring the Bicentennial Bell, which will remain on display until 3:00pm.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Sale of the Bobby Douglas book, TAKEDOWN II.  Bobby will be signing copies of the book from 2:30-4:00pm; front of Pleasant Valley Church

Ohio Valley Street Survivors Car Show, noon-5:00pm; near the 1828 Bridge

Pleasant Valley Church:   1) chicken dinner; Church hall

(noon-5:00pm)                2)  Art/Essay student entries on display; upstairs

                                     3)  History tours of the Church

                                     4)  Bake sale, upstairs

                                     5)  Park site plan on display, upstairs

SPECIAL GUESTS:

Ohio Sen. Jim Carnes will be the featured speaker at the 1:30pm ceremony.

Professional baseball player Joe Niekro will be in the parade with Bobby Douglas.

ALL EVENTS will be in Blaine, along the historic National Road and at the site of the 1828 Blaine Bridge,

OHIO’S OFFICIAL BICENTENNIAL BRIDGE. 

Blaine, OH is 6 miles west of Wheeling, WV, and I mile east of the Ohio Valley Mall in St.Clairsville, OH; exit 220 on I-70.
